Core SAP Business Modules

ECC and R/3 are composed of many business modules. With SAP’s architecture, a company deploying ECC or R/3 need not completely develop each module within their implementation. For example, if you are bringing in SAP to take care of financial accounting, controlling, and perhaps treasury cash management, there might be no need to develop SAP’s logistics offering, HR module, and so forth. You likely have another system that takes care of these others needs. In that case, SAP might simply be constructed to interface (talk to) the other systems.
