Different Views of the IMG

There are different ways that you can look at your Implementation Guide (IMG) within SAP. Each of these is called a view. Depending on the type of information that you want to see and the order in which you want it presented on the screen, you select a different view of the IMG. You can also create your own custom views of the IMG. Note that there are four levels of the SAP Implementation Guide (IMG):

  • The SAP Reference IMG

  • SAP Enterprise IMGs

  • SAP Project IMGs

  • SAP Upgrade Customizing IMGs

The SAP Reference IMG

The SAP reference IMG contains documentation on all the SAP business application components supplied by SAP and serves as a single source for all configuration data (see Figure 8.3).
