Understanding and Using Fields

The SAP system houses a large database of information. This database is composed of tables that store data (master data, transactional data, programs, and more). The tables are composed of columns (called fields) and rows (called records or data). SAP screens display these database fields on their screens. From R/3, use the command field to navigate to transaction code /nFF7A. This transaction code will take you to the Cash Management and Forecast screen in the Financial Accounting module (see Figure 6.1). For help navigating in SAP, refer to Hour 5, “Navigation in SAP.”

Figure 6.1. The Cash Management and Forecast screen gives a good example of an arrangement of fields presented on an SAP screen.
