Creating Web Part Pages in a SharePoint Site
A Basic Page can be useful, but it's not nearly as functional as a Web Part Page. A Web Part Page can display multiple types of information to your users all at the same time. For example, you can have a stock ticker, a document library, a list of links, a discussion group, and many other sources of content all directed to the end user simply by creating a Web Part Page and adding the respective Web Parts to it.
To create a Web Part Page in Windows SharePoint Services, follow the procedure outlined here:
