Summary

Before anyone can access a SharePoint site, he or she needs to be granted access to that site. A Site Administrator must subsequently understand how to grant users the access they need, without giving them more control than necessary. SharePoint allows you to control this access through the concept of site groups and with the ability to add Active Directory users into a site. Understanding how to administer these concepts is subsequently an important part of being a Site Administrator.
