Q&A

Q1:When I try to load my web pages (or the web pages of one of my users), I get a 403 Forbidden error. How can I fix this problem?
A1: Any content that Apache delivers to the outside world must be set to be readable by everyone so that the account under which Apache runs will be able to read it. Also refer back to the special list of permissions required for users' home directories in the “Enabling Home Directory Websites” section.
Q2:I've added a user to the /etc/ftpusers file, but she can't log in via FTP. Why?
A2: Counterintuitively, the /etc/ftpusers file is a list of users who are forbidden from using FTP, not a list of users who are allowed to use FTP. Remove the user from /etc/ftpusers, and she should be able to log in.
