Q1:I've heard about a tool called apt-rpm that sounds similar to yum. Is there such a thing, and does it have any advantages?
A1: The apt-rpm package manager is indeed very similar to yum and does its job similarly well. For most users, and for beginning users in particular, there is little functional difference between the two. Because yum is installed automatically with Fedora Core 4 and apt-rpm must be downloaded separately, we have discussed yum here.
