In this chapter, you learned to use the basic features of the most commonly used OpenOffice.org application, OpenOffice.org Writer—a full-featured word processing application.

In OpenOffice.org Writer, you learned to do the following:

  • Enter and edit text using your pointing device and the Writer text cursor

  • Select blocks of text to move them around or copy them within a document

  • Alter the appearance, size, or style of existing text or newly entered text

  • Change the alignment of text paragraphs to left alignment, right alignment, center alignment, or full justification
