Summary

In this chapter, you were introduced for the first time to the Linux command line, and you learned to perform a few basic file management tasks using the shell. You learned to create new files, list the contents of directories, navigate the file system tree, create new directories, and move and delete files and directories.

In the next chapter, you learn about some of the more powerful features of the Linux file system that help to make Linux so flexible and secure. Until then, take a break: you've earned it!
