Launching the Fedora Core 4 Installer

As the finale to your first chapter, it's time to launch the Linux installer. Insert the Fedora Core 4 install DVD or CD-ROM and restart your computer. You should quickly find yourself face-to-face with the Fedora Core logo and can proceed to the next chapter.

If you see nothing but a blank screen, or if Windows starts just as it always has, your PC isn't currently capable of booting from a DVD or CD-ROM.

If this is the case, it may be possible to start from a DVD or CD-ROM by changing settings in your system's Basic Input/Ouptut System (BIOS) setup.
