Adding Optional Modules

Optional modules can extend your ability to do various cool things with Movable Type. The Image::Magick module for uploaded images (see Hour 19, “Uploading Files in Movable Type”) is a great example of a module that isn't normally installed, but that you might want to install.

Adding LWP::UserAgent

The LWP::UserAgent module is a part of core functionality for using Perl on the Web. It will typically be installed but it is not necessary for running Movable Type. If you would like to install this module, follow these steps:

Download the following two files from Movable Type and unpack them; go to www.movabletype.org/cpan/cpan-LWP.tar.gz and www.movabletype.org/cpan/cpan-URI.tar.gz.
