Application Clients

HTTP clients all use the Web as a means of exchanging data between the client and the server. However, there is still a requirement for non Web-based clients. Such standalone clients will usually be deployed within an organization and will frequently implement the presentation logic using Swing or AWT GUI interfaces, but there is still a role for simple command-line-based interfaces (often when working across simple network connections using Telnet). Application clients are discussed on Day 4.
