Summary
Enterprise application development helps businesses provide Web-enabled, scalable, secure applications quickly. It also enables vendors to produce pluggable tools and services to augment the J2EE standard defined through the Java Community Process. This chapter has shown the journey toward the n-tier environment that underpins the architecture of enterprise application programming. The chapter discussed the basic services that should be available to an n-tier enterprise application.
