Summary

This hour was spent planning an online guestbook application. We started by enumerating the functionality the application should support. These base features include allowing a user to add a guestbook entry and providing a means for viewing previous guestbook entries. From these base features, we arrived at other features, such as the submitted guestbook entries being shown in descending chronological order in a paginated DataGrid and the user's being able to supply his or her e-mail address.

Once the feature requirements were laid out, we moved on to creating a user interface. When thinking about what the user interfaces should look like, it often helps to sketch out some ideas on paper, as we did in Figures 21.1 and 21.2. Once these ...
