Hour 18. Allowing the User to Sort the Data in a DataGrid

In Hours 15, “Displaying Data with the DataGrid Web Control,” and 16, “Examining Further DataGrid Examples,” we took an introductory look at the DataGrid Web control. We saw how to bind the database to the DataGrid, how to format the DataGrid, specifying Bound Column and HyperLink Column, and many other techniques. Of equal importance, in these two hours (as well as in the previous hour, “Working with Data-Bound DropDownList, RadioButton, and CheckBox Web Controls”) we saw how to use the SELECT Data Method Code Builder to create functions that return the proper database data in the form of a DataReader.
