Linux Installation Instructions

Use the following instructions if you will be installing MySQL on a computer running Linux. Note that steps 1–6 might vary according to the layout of www.mysql.com.

Note

If you have Red Hat Linux 7.1, MySQL should already be included with Linux.

1.
Go to www.mysql.com to download MySQL.
2.
Select Downloads from the main menu.
3.
Select the latest stable version, MySQL 3.23.
4.
Review the provided information about version 3.23.
5.
Find the appropriate Linux download for your system, and then click the Download selection. More than likely, you will need to download and install the following file: MySQL-client-VERSION.i386.rpm.
