Now it’s time to emulate Emeril and “Kick it up a notch!” You’ve seen the good things Elements can do in cleaning up damaged photos and saving the ones that weren’t so great. You’ve learned how to recompose a picture and how to add contrast and brighten up a dull day while keeping things realistic.

Well, a little reality goes a long way. Let’s see what happens when we set aside realism. We can reduce the number of colors in the picture to just a handful. We can turn the picture into a puddle of wet paint and play with it until it’s beyond recognition. We can turn people green or skies yellow.
