Chapter 19. Creating Art from Scratch

Up to now, we’ve mostly talked about how to correct existing images such as photographs. Sometimes, you need to create your own images, such as logos and Web buttons. Using the painting and drawing tools in Elements, it’s easy to create your own art.

In this hour you will

  • Explore different methods of choosing colors

  • Draw simple shapes

  • Select a shape so that it can be moved or resized

  • Paint with a brush and draw with a pencil

  • Remove all or part of an image
