USENET Newsgroups

The USENET news system is a worldwide system of forums on just about every subject imaginable. There are two ways you can access the system. The first is with a newsreader program. Ask your ISP what the name of the news server you should use is. The second is through Google Groups, which can be reached from the Google home page (www.google.com) by clicking on the Groups link. Like directories, USENET groups are organized by categories and subcategories that are separated by periods. Here is a list of groups that might be of interest to FreeBSD users:

  • comp.unix.freebsd.announce

  • comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.misc
