- action
The response when a Web page event takes place.
- AI file
Adobe Illustrator file.
- alt text
Short for alternative text, an attribute designed to provide an alternative source of information about elements. Alt text was originally used just for images in cases where the image was not visible. Today other elements also have alt text to support browsers that cannot display those elements.
- animated GIF
Animation created by putting a number of images, to be displayed in sequence, into a single GIF file.
- animated graphics
Moving images of any type. Often Flash graphics and animated GIFs are image types seen on the Web.
