Over the course of this book, I’ve shown you many techniques for writing CGI programs to build Web applications. Here and there, I’ve mentioned security considerations that should be taken into account when you’re writing CGI scripts. In this hour, I am going to focus solely on security because, no matter how cool or powerful your application is, if it opens easy-to-exploit holes that allow malicious folks to access your Web server, it’s not worth installing.
