Summary

The goal of this hour was to introduce you to the world of content management. Static Web sites are increasingly going the way of the dinosaur, and these days, it’s more common to see Web sites that enable you to separate your content from the manner in which it is presented, so that you can make changes to your site without editing hundreds of individual HTML documents. In this hour, I provided an example of a simple content management system written using a couple of CGI scripts. I also discussed some of the pre-built content management systems that are available, and how to evaluate them.
