A1: It’s possible to write CGI programs in almost any programming language. You should research your favorite programming language on the Web to find out how to use it to write CGI programs.
Q2: Can I write CGI shell scripts that run under Windows?
A2: Not easily. More importantly, one wonders why you would want to do such a thing. Most of the advantages of writing your CGI programs in a UNIX shell are tied to the command-line–oriented paradigm of UNIX. Windows does not provide the advanced command-line functionality that UNIX does, so it really doesn’t make sense to write shell scripts in that environment.
