Day 2. Installing MySQL
Today you will learn how to install MySQL. This lesson covers installation on Linux and Unix, Windows, and Mac OS X.
In the course of today's lesson, you will encounter several new programs, notably the mysql console program and the mysqladmin administration program. The instructions require you to use these programs to get started, but these are powerful programs that need deeper coverage. You'll therefore learn about them more thoroughly in later lessons.
