Welcome.

Four years ago, I wrote what I thought was a guide for the network perplexed; a fairly concise and practical book, a brain dump of everything I knew about network troubleshooting. (Make of that what you will.) I specifically wrote it for people who were reasonably smart, but didn’t know anything about computing, and thought that it would be largely ignored by those who did.

I was wrong.

In fact, there were two groups of folks who jumped on that book so darn hard that it gave me a concussion: folks who didn’t know anything about computing, sure; but also, new-on-the-job system administrators who had gotten various “paper” certifications and yearned for more real-world troubleshooting tips that ...
