A1: | Yes. You can create a template with everything laid out perfectly, apply it to a Web page, and then detach it. That way you have a standard beginning point but have the freedom to do what you want with the page. |
Q2: | Why can't I change the background or link colors in a page created with a template? |
A2: | When you apply a template to a Web page, the <body> tag is locked. The background and link colors are attributes of the <body> tag and will need to be defined in the original template, either in the <body> tag or as styles.
