Creating a Template

First create a template, save it to the Template category of the Asset panel, and then use it to create a new Web page within your Web site. Anyone working on the same Web site can use the template, and you can use templates created by others.

You need to define a Web site before Dreamweaver can insert a template. Dreamweaver creates a directory called Templates in the root of your Web site where it stores the original template files. Dreamweaver keeps the code of a template in a file in the Template directory and inserts a copy of the code when you insert a template in a Web page.
