Adding Links to a Graphic with Image Maps
An Image map is an image with regions defined as hyperlinks. These regions are called hotspots. When a viewer clicks a hotspot, it acts just like any other hyperlink. Instead of adding one hyperlink to an entire image, you can define a number of hotspots on different portions of an image. You can even create these hotspots in different shapes.
Image maps are useful for presenting graphical menus that the viewer can click to select regions of the single image. For instance, you could create an image out of a picture of North America. You could draw hotspots around the different countries in North America. When the viewer clicked the hotspot, he could jump to a Web page with information on that country. ...
