Adding an Image to a Page

Images are separate files that appear within a Web page. Because Dreamweaver is a WYSIWYG program, you will be able to see the images right in the Dreamweaver Document window. Images are not actually part of the HTML but remain separate files that are inserted by the browser when you view the Web page.

Open the page that you created in Hour 2, “Creating a Basic Web Page with Text.” Go ahead and delete the placeholder image. To insert an image into your Web page

Place the cursor where you want to insert the image. You will see the insertion point blinking, as shown in Figure 6.1.
