Adding a Mailto Link

It's nice to put a link in your Web page that allows a viewer to send e-mail. This type of link is called a mailto link. The Dreamweaver E-mail Link object helps you implement a mailto link. The user must have an e-mail application set up to work with the browser for these links to work.

To create a mailto link, select some text to be the link. Click the E-mail Link object and the Insert E-mail Link dialog box appears (see Figure 4.10). Enter the e-mail address and click OK. The text looks like a hyperlink, but instead of linking to another page, it opens a pre-addressed e-mail message.
