Pasting Text from a File

Often, you need to put text that already exists as a word processor document into a Web page. You can easily copy text from another application and paste it in Dreamweaver.

To copy and paste text from a word processor or other program

1.
Open a document.
2.
Select at least a couple of paragraphs so you can check for format retention in Dreamweaver.
3.
Copy the text to the Clipboard (the keyboard command is usually Ctrl+C).
4.
Go to Dreamweaver and place the insertion point where you want to paste the text.
5.
Select the Paste command from the Edit menu. The keyboard shortcut is Ctrl+V in Windows or Command+V on a Mac.
