Font Classifications

To begin learning how to specify typefaces, you can explore the use of system fonts and classifications. This will seem, in many ways, like familiar terrain, as HTML uses a similar method. Fonts, whether system or encoded, are applied to text elements using the font-family style property. This property, like most others, uses a very simple syntax:

font-family:name
					

where name is the name of a system font, a font classification, or an encoded font's name.
