Microsoft Personal Web Server (PWS)

The client-server model of the World Wide Web generally requires two distinct machines, each of which assumes one of the roles. However, there's an inexpensive way to fully test the combination of HTML client and ASP files locally. Microsoft has developed a program called Personal Web Server or Personal Web Manager. This program will mimic the full client-server model on your computer without the need for an Internet connection.

Personal Web Server is available for free download from the Microsoft Web site at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/pws/. PWS was used to test the combinations of HTML and ASP files used in this hour.
