A powerful, but hidden, feature of IIS is the ability to send email from within an ASP page. As alluded to in Day 16, "Debugging Your E-Commerce Applications," you can use this feature to send yourself email when something goes wrong (or when something goes right!). You can also use this to automatically send individual email messages to your customers. Finally, and perhaps most powerfully, you can use this feature for direct email marketing.
