The Office Web Components that come with Microsoft Office 2000 are an easy and powerful way to add spreadsheet, chart, and PivotTable functionality to your application. To use this functionality the client needs two things: an Office 2000 license and a host capable of containing ActiveX/COM components. Spreadsheets can be fully interactive at the client, or they can be created at the server and sent to the client as HTML.
The Spreadsheet control gives you an embeddable version of Microsoft Excel. The functionality of this control is nearly identical to the full-blown application. It comes complete with a recalculation engine.
