The Future of DNA

Windows DNA is a platform, not a single technology or architecture. The Windows DNA platform evolves as IT needs and technologies evolve. For example, in 1998 when Windows DNA was introduced, it was very focused on aligning Microsoft's various tools and technologies into a single solution architecture. Early implementation efforts to develop Windows DNA applications uncovered many issues such as "DLL Hell," solution development complexity, and scalability problems with the NT 4 operating system. I understand that these problems got raised to the highest levels at Microsoft and they were resolved in Windows 2000.
