ColdFusion's <CFFORM> tag provides a variety of ways to customize and enhance the way users can input data on your site. Though it offers more features than HTML's standard <FORM> tag, it passes collected data in exactly the same way. For this reason, ColdFusion-enhanced forms can be used with existing action pages and CGI scripts.

ColdFusion-enhanced forms use JavaScript to create the custom features in the user's browser; you, the developer, don't need to know a thing about Java to use the tools. You simply use the required <CFFORM> tags in your templates, and ColdFusion does the rest behind the scenes.
