Leveraging Exadata Features for Applications
Exadata was initially launched as a data warehouse machine. Subsequent generations of Exadata are leveraged for online transaction processing (OLTP) customers as well. Many OLTP customers have adopted Exadata, and more and more customers are considering it for running their application because of the tremendous benefits it offers. This chapter describes characteristics of an OLTP system and then discusses how the features of Exadata can be used to maximize performance of OLTP systems.
