Exadata is an engineered system that is optimized to run Oracle databases. It is prebuilt, preconfigured, and tested at all the layers, thus eliminating the complexity of deploying a high-performance database system. All the Exadata machines are the same, and they are delivered ready to run, are identical to the configuration used by Oracle Engineering, are highly supportable, and can run both online transaction processing (OLTP) and DW applications.
