Product: The Versace Man Experiments

To sharpen my lighting, styling, and editing skills, I recently gave myself an assignment to shoot the same bottle of Versace’s Man cologne in as many different ways as I could think of. The room for error is so much smaller in product photography because the shots are close-up and require razor-sharp focus. Each experiment took me at least one or two hours in Photoshop to get a finished frame. The bottle is metal and glass, making it fairly difficult to light properly. Each experiment provided a different challenge as I lit the bottle on different surfaces, such as sheet metal, fabric, and water.
