Due to the silent and invisible character of the technology that enables real-time locating of assets or people over the air, an RTLS introduces unique challenges to security and monitoring performance. I wrote this part to add extra emphasis on considering monitoring and security as part of your process when selecting an RTLS.
To dominate the process of achieving whatever things you wish with an RTLS, you need to monitor and measure what really matters. Chapter 14 details the what and the how of monitoring your RTLS, as well as a few metrics that can be used to measure and present performance of your RTLS.
Because good security is as important as good performance, in Chapter 15, I enable you to make the right choice of technology and prepare you should the day arise when you’re forced to look for intruders or take countermeasures.
