DAAD — Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst

The DAAD is an organisation of the institutions of higher education and student bodies in the Federal Republic of Germany, founded in 1925 and re-founded in 1950. It is an institution for the promotion of international academic exchanges and an intermediary for the implementation of foreign cultural and academic policy as well as for educational co-operation with developing countries.

The DAAD provides information on the system of education and higher education in Germany, on courses of study abroad, and on funding programmes and scholarships.
