Quit Classic
Unfortunately, there is no visual clue that tells you whether Classic is open or has quit on you. I wish there was at least a little dot in the menu bar that would let me know that Classic is open because sometimes it up and quits altogether and I don’t even know until I see that the triangles under my Classic applications in the Dock have suddenly disappeared. A great consolation when Classic crashes is that it doesn’t affect Mac OS X—OS X just keeps running happily along.
Classic will quit automatically and safely when you Shut Down, Restart, or Log Out.
You can quit Classic yourself:
1. | Open System Preferences: either click on the icon in the Dock, or go to the Apple menu and choose “Preferences....”
