Changing Fonts (typefaces) and Rule No. 2

Or as my friend Don Nissen, a design instructor at Ivy Tech State College, explains more elegantly: “Select, then affect.” “This seems to clarify to students that, if something isn’t selected, it ain’t gonna be affected.”

Throughout the entire Mac environment, to make any changes to anything you must follow this rule, Rule No. 2:

Select First, Then Do It To It.

For instance, to change to a different font, or typeface:

1.
First select the characters you want to change (press-and-drag over the text). If you want to change all of the text, press Command A to select all.
