Where Did Your New (or renamed) Folder Go?

How your window is arranged or sorted, such as by name or by size, will affect where your new, untitled folder will appear. For instance, if you view your window as a list which you have sorted by “Name,” the untitled folder will appear near the bottom of the list, alphabetized as “untitled.” If you sort by “Date Modified,” the untitled folder will appear first in the list because it is the most recent.

After you name the untitled folder and click anywhere or hit the Enter key, the new folder gets arranged in the list according to the view you have chosen. That is, if the list is sorted by “Name,” the folder instantly gets alphabetized into the existing list, which means it may disappear from your sight. ...
