Drag a File to the Desktop

Sometimes it’s easiest to drag a file to the Desktop, then find the folder icon you want to move the file into, then drag the file from the Desktop into the folder icon (or its open window).

As I mentioned earlier, if you use certain folders often, just drag them to the Toolbar or the Dock so you can move files in without having to find the folder in a window. Plus you’ll always have that folder accessible so you can single-click to open it.
