The Finder Menu Bar

Each of the items on the left side of the Finder menu bar are explained either in the following pages or in other chapters, as noted below. The items on the far-right of the menu bar appear not just in the Finder, but in every application. That is, you will always have access to whatever is on the right side. They are explained on this page.

You can remove these items, if you like, and there are others you can add. If you can add or remove something, you’ll find a checkbox in its preferences (found in the System Preferences pane) that says something like, “Show the clock in the menu bar.”
