Disk Icons
When your Desktop is visible (the Desktop is shown and described on page 2), you’ll always see icons of any disks that are in your Mac. When a disk icon appears on the Desktop, we say that disk is “mounted.”
You will always see the hard disk icon, as shown below, that holds all of the files on your computer.
When you insert a CD or a DVD, an icon of the CD or DVD will appear.
If you have bought something called a “Zip drive” in which you insert a small, removable hard disk called a “Zip disk,” you’ll see its icon on the Desktop as well.
