Forward Delete Key (del)

The Forward Delete key (del), one of the edit keys mentioned above, is a particularly handy key: it deletes the character to its right (forward) as you type. This is just the opposite of the Delete key we usually use, which deletes the character to its left (backward). Unfortunately, some keyboards (like the ones that comes with iMacs) don’t have this useful key. On your laptop, press the fn key (lower-left, see page 45) and tap F8 to forward delete.
