The Desktop, Finder, and Home

What you see when you turn on the Macintosh is called the Desktop. It is also called the Finder because the software program that runs the Desktop is the Finder. You might have seen the map of your Desktop on page 2. Get a general idea of the Desktop features by reading pages 125–127, then learn about your Home area on pages 132–133.
